On June 15, 2012, the Austin City Council adopted the Imagine Austin Comprehensive Plan. Combined with existing neighborhood plans, Imagine Austin will guide the city's growth for the next 30 years by directing land use through zoning changes, transportation infrastructure planning, and municipal program development.
The Imagine Austin Comprehensive Plan contains a number of provisions that will require codification. Dubbed CodeNEXT, the City of Austin Law and Planning and Development Review departments have embarked on a re-write of the Land Development Code to conform to the new comprehensive plan. That effort will require a high level of citizen involvement to ensure that the spirit of Imagine Austin is accurately interpreted. The Imagine Austin comprehensive plan shall be codified with the full intent of the stakeholders who wrote the plan. Citizen knowledge of the plan is essential to supporting this process. A good place to start with a geographic visual orientation of the plan is its Growth Concept Map.

Hyde Park Neighborhood Plan Ordinance 000413-63
The purpose of the Hyde Park Neighborhood Plan is to provide a framework for preserving the historic character of Hyde Park and to foster the continued development of a community of neighbors living and working in a safe and beautiful neighborhood of central Austin. The Neighborhood Plan is divided into eight primary goals:
Due to its early adoption in April 2000, the Hyde Park Planning Area does not have a Future Land Use Map (FLUM). Since there are no predefined future land use designations in this area, formal neighborhood plan amendments normally required in FLUM-covered plans, have not been required in Hyde Park zoning changes.
